  • Ad: “I will pay top dollar ($200,000.00+ I really have it) to anyone able to physically transport me to the year 1977 and allow me to >> #
  • << spend five days making discrete observations.” [Now that’s what I call wishing for the improbable :p] #
  • American Idol: “And I hit my high note and everything”. [Yep, that high- note sure yowled after you hit it :D] #

  • Been working quite a bit the last few days. So not on Twitter much. Thought that today might be a slow day but doesn’t look like it 😀 #
  • Finally, got some time to breathe 🙂 Been working mostly the last few days, except for when we were watching TV or movies … #
  • Finished season 2 of “Kyle XY”, began watching “Jake 2.0” and also watched “Kismat Konnection” – all yesterday and day before. #

  • Ad: “we are looking for someone to work in trade – gift certificates.” [If the grocer took gift certificates, I’m in :D] #
  • Ad: “We need someone to design, manage and promote a website. We are willing to pay based on hits and commission for income generated >> #
  • << from the site.” [Translation: you do all the work and we’ll give you a share of the profit] #
  • I wish people understood the difference between “web designer” and “web developer” – it would save so much confusion in applying for jobs 🙂 #
  • Ad: “This is a non paying gig, but would look great on your resume.” [If I had a line for each of those jobs, my resume would be 100 pages!] #
  • Just got a callback from a Dialog TV supervisor. Much more helpful in that they say they’ll at least look into it. The CSR on the other >> #
  • << hand was adamant that they won’t pro-rate and that a supervisor would tell me the same thing! #
  • Ad: “We are willing to give between 15-25% of our company to the right developer” [And 15-25% of zero is worth what?] #
  • Dialog seems to believe nobody wants to permanently disconnect their service. At least, that’s the impression I got from the latest call 🙂 #

  • Advert: I am actually looking for a very reasonably priced programmer (maybe someone that is not real advanced). #
  • Advert: Male Massage therapist is searching for someone to create a web page for his business. Willing to exchange massage for your time. 🙂 #
  • Advert: Need someone to install Lightroom and/or Illustrator. I have a PC that runs on XP, I’d like a copy of the disc(s) as well. 😀 #
  • Advert: Perhaps even optimizing the main code would improve some of the problems. [Methinks you need some rephrasing there …] 😀 #
  • Another ad: “Pay range is $14.00 – $18.00 per hour for inhouse webdesigner/developer in California.” Good luck with that 🙂 #

  • All the people who say “I will answer all replies immediately” on Craigslist have no clue how they’re going to get swamped – by spam mostly. #
  • A guy needs somebody to PhotoShop two dates into a document. My first reaction was “dates”? You mean he wants girls in the photo? 🙂 #
  • And then there’s the person who needs a “Winamp expert”. What the heck’s a Winamp expert? It’s just an MP3 player, how complex can it be? 😀 #
  • “Need a simple 5 page starter website for business, complete with text and my company logo…best price quote below %50 wins.” Meant $50? #
  • Sometimes it’s funny how similar writing and coding can be. Writing – I have this great idea for a novel, if you write it we can split >> #
  • << the profits. Coding – I have this great idea for an app, if you code it …. #
  • “4 Corfe Close” – now that’s brilliant 🙂 I didn’t know Britain had such interesting places :p – http://is.gd/gX87 #
  • There’s a word for it: Snarge – bird goo wiped off an aircraft after it hits a bird 🙂 #

  • Was tagged for one of those “25 Things About Me” lists on Facebook. I realized that I don’t have 25 things about me 😀 #
  • Ah, I love it when a prospective client wants a discount to compensate for his “time and effort” spent in sending me money 😀 #
  • Another: “I need this site to be up within two weeks, but it should only take you a day because it is easy for an expert like yourself. ” #

  • I love it when prospective clients say “I don’t know how to do this but it should only take an hour”. How do they know how long it’ll take? #
  • And then there are the people who want a complete social networking site coded for US$ 3,000. Good luck 🙂 #
  • Watched the latest “Lost” episodes and then began watching the second half of “Kyle XY” season 2 on DVD. So lots of TV watching today 🙂 #

  • Still have an issue with the Twitter Tools modifications I made – but only on my production server, not the test one. I hate that! 🙂 #
  • This new PHP framework I’m working with is brilliant for most types of code work. Took me a couple of days to get upto speed though 🙂 #

  • OK, went through applying for a bunch of possible programming gigs. That part of the daily ritual is done. Now on to the daily sites list 🙂 #
  • A quick day out shopping and dining 🙂 Got a few more DVDs of TV series to watch but didn’t get the two I wanted msot – “Dexter” & “Heroes” in reply to theretrometro #
  • If you as a client are very vague and say something like “I want MySpace duplicated”, I as developer will quote something like 30-40K 😀 #
  • “City of Ember” was very highly recommended by a friend. We’re about to watch it and see if the recommendation holds true 🙂 #
  • “City of Ember” wasn’t bad but not as good as I thought it would be either. Massive reality holes regarding building stuff to last 🙂 #
  • Website design where you just create a single image, slice it up, and then put the slices up as the entire page is the stupidest thing ever. #
