Tweets for 2008-12-05

  • Apparently WP 2.7 will be released (at least to wordpress.com) in 5 minutes. I’m on 2.7 RC1 and have no complaints but want the new one 🙂 #
  • Birdie (http://is.gd/8Uee) released with mutli-user support and search options. Full details on the download page 🙂 #
  • Now to start work on the next release of Birdie – groups, filters, retweet button etc. are planned … We’ll see what actually comes out. #
  • “Jericho” still continues to be interesting. On to the second half of the first season now. It has taken on a bit of the “Lost” feel though #
  • Spent most of the day looking at the Facebook API. Didn’t get much coding done or anything else done except of course, watch “Jericho” 🙂 #

Tweets for 2008-12-04

  • Been busy. Added multi-user support to Birdie (http://is.gd/8Uee) and fixed some API calling issues. A new download is a few days away. #
  • Lots of coding on Birdie and lots of changes. Finally time to rest and see if any bugs crop up 🙂 Also time to watch another “Jericho” epi. #
  • OK, a few more Birdie bugs crushed and this build is ever more closer to a public relase. But now headaches and a warm bed drag me away … #

Tweets for 2008-12-03

  • I’m annoyed. Apparently Twitter changed how the API works in terms of how many tweets are pullled with the since_id parameter. Now it’s 20. #
  • I am sure that there are some memory leaks in Birdie – too much memory usage since the early releases. Need to find the cause. #
  • A computer scientist with the Central Bank of Nigeria wants to contact me urgently. Wonder what it’s about? 😀 #
  • Merged the main tweet display tab and the new search tab on Birdie and the Birdie memory usage dropped by about 20MB! Lesson learnt :p #
  • OK, off to hunt a curious bug in Joomla 1.x where the WYSIWYG editor becomes not-so-WYSIWYG 😀 #
  • Joomla WYSIWYG editor issue is now fixed. The client will be happy 🙂 Now to work on a custom Joomla module for the same client … #
  • We’ve seen six episodes of “Jericho” (http://is.gd/a1OX). So far, it’s been good … let’s see if it continues to be so … #

  • I believe the creature in our attic gave birth in the early hours of dawn. Lots of little peeps and some grunting and thumping. Fun 😀 #
  • Birdie (http://is.gd/8Uee) now has extensive search capabilities. No new build till I’ve tested it out and expanded the features though. #
  • Haven’t used Komodo in a while. Komodo 5.0 (http://is.gd/9RM5) does look pretty nifty. Now to take it for a spin … #
  • Headache. Again. Off to bed perchance to dream of coding. #

  • Finally caught up to all the tweets overnight 🙂 Need to add a feature to Birdie which allows grouping of tweets for faster reading …. #
  • Hmm … Birdie does not support UNICODE 🙁 Can’t post via Birdie using Sinhala, for instance. I’ll have to see what I can do about that … #
  • ‍‍What does VerifyError: Error #1033 in Flex mean? Wish they’d document this type of thing better … #
  • “Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic” (http://is.gd/9HzG) looks a lot like “Nanny McPhee” (http://is.gd/9HAi). Probably “inspired” again 😀 #
  • Added hash-tag support to Birdie. But a public build probably won’t be out for a few days as I’m waiting till search functionality is in. #
