  • Bah, I hate web hosts who will not allow you to override PHP configuration settings! #
  • The Sri Lankan government is so bogus – two weeks after the budget they suddenly realize that there’s an economic crisis and come up with >> #
  • << a mini-budget to give relief to the people. They’re even going to “make sacrifices” for the people … probably will have one less >> #
  • << 5-star meal everyday for their part … #
  • Oh, wait. Maybe they meant “they are going to sacrifice the people” – that actually sounds more like it actually 😀 #
  • Extra, extra: Terry Pratchett to receive knighthood as part of the new year’s honours list! #
  • Installing Windows 7 in a VM. Let’s see how this baby does compared to Vista 🙂 #
  • Windows 7 feels as if this is the release that Vista should have been – lots of little fixes and tweaks that make Windows easier to use … #
  • We watched “Dishyum” and “Transformers” earlier today. Now to see if “Santosh Subramaniyam” has sub-titles … #

  • The next version of #Birdie is now ready for release and I should release it today. But I’ve hit a brickwall with further development … in reply to mariedees #
  • Today’s Wordsmith.org word of the day: pell-mell – in a confused manner. Similar to helter-skelter or higgledy piggledy 🙂 #
  • Looking at Mono to see if it would make a possible alternative cross-platform development environment for me to use. Adobe AIR has issues. #
  • “Bangkok Dangerous” – Nicholas Cage, the new Santa Claus: “He’s bad. Very, very bad.” 🙂 #
  • I really dislike people who think you’re fools on Twitter – the ones who follow you, then unfollow but follow back if you unfollow them … #
  • “Aegan” is just a slightly modified remake of “Main Hoo Na”, which itself was a mix of several Hollywood movies 🙂 #

  • Most of the bugs/issues with #Birdie 0.95 have been sorted out. I would have liked to have done a release today but won’t happen today. #
  • I really need to work on a few other apps – like Amanuensis, my editor for writers. Also I’m wondering if I should do a Delphi #Birdie 🙂 #
  • Turns out that our DVD player might be slightly faulty and that’s why a lot of DVDs have been giving us trouble lately. Bought new one. #
  • Finally got to watch the rest of “Wanted” – ending was good, action was stylish but the story was weak, 98-pound weakling weak 🙂 #
  • “Son of Rambow” still will not play. But we finally managed to see all of “Babylon A. D.” – not totally bad but nothing special 🙂 #
  • Today’s Word of the Day from wordsmith.org is seriatim – one after another, in a series 🙂 #
  • Watched “Made of Honor” and it was enjoyable. I’m just glad that the DVDs are (mostly) working out this time around 🙂 #

  • Lots of behind-the-scene plumbing stuff to be fixed in #Birdie for the next release. Guess this one’s going to take a little longer … #
  • Looks as if the interface slows down a tad if the record count goes to 20K or 30K in #Birdie. The main tab takes a second to open now … #

  • Aargh, it’s the little things that trip you up! Between a couple of days ago and yesterday the Search API began returning user names in >> #
  • << lowercase! This broke my code in #Birdie for fetching tweets to a user via the Search API. Darn it!! #
  • OK, most of the oustanding work for my clients is complete. That means I get some time to work on my own coding and other stuff 🙂 #
  • Just got a copy of an Indian magazine I write for. Cover price Rs. 50. Postage Rs. 115. No wonder they won’t send me copies 🙂 #
  • Today’s afternoon movie is “The Mummy III: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”. Will we get to see all of it or not? 😀 #
  • Apparently Windows 7 beta will be out by January. Guess I’ll have to give it a try and see if it’s worth the hassle of switching … again:p #
  • “Mummy III” wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but it wasn’t totally good either. Now on to “Son of Rambo”, which I have high hopes for #

  • undefined need to add nine #
  • nine #
  • Tweet chunking (breaking up a tweet longer than 140 characters into several tweets) appears to be working in #Birdie. But needs testing. #
  • OK, perhaps now the tweet chunking works correctly … not sure till more testing is done. But also added tweet history for sent tweets #
  • I’ve got almost 50K tweets from friends in #Birdie and no real trouble. Given what Tweetdeck was going through, I thought I’d have trouble #
  • The movie for the afternoon is “Death Race”. Of course, if the DVD doesn’t work, we’ll have to pick a different one 🙂 #
  • “Deat Race” was a bust. So now what do we do? I’m tired of bum DVDs … #
  • “Jeyam Kondaan” has a totally different feel to most Tamil movies. Enjoying it so far and I still can’t figure out where it’s headed 🙂 #

  • Fixed a search API related bug in #Birdie early in the morning – remind me not to code while I’m distracted or have a headache :p #
  • A few bugs in #Birdie since I made the latest batch of changes which modified the way the core works. Feeling too lazy to hunt down the bugs #
  • When you have to tie yourself in knots to ensure the MVC separation, the MVC paradigm begins to lose its appeal 🙂 #
  • Bloody hell, I’ve never seen the “Chrome” tabs go mountain-shaped before – @LMAshton has so many tabs open! #
  • “Leatherheads” was good but “Sakkarakatti” is awful – cliched old plot, listless acting, and characters that I don’t care about at all :p #
